Poached Egg & Aromatic Tomatoes
Poached egg with aromatic tomatoes! If you fancy making a healthy, cheap, nutrional breakfast with a bit of personality then this is for you!
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tin chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 onion sliced into half moons
- 1 slice of your favourite bread
- Tsp fennel seeds
- Butter of your choice
- 1 tbsp oil
Fry the onion and fennel seeds with the oil until nice and soft (should take about 5-10 mins). Put the kettle on to boil.
Add the tomatoes to the onions and cook on a medium heat until the tomato mix becomes thicker.
In the meantime put the boiling water in a pan (leave the water to settle without further heat) and stir the water in a circular motion to create a whirlpool (this will help make the perfect egg shape!). Slowly crack and place the egg into the water.
Put the water on a low heat for 3-4 minutes until the egg is cooked as you like.
When both your egg and tomatoes are done serve up with buttered toast.
